Transient voltage suppressor (TVS) is a diode type high performance protection device. When the poles of the TVS diode are subjected to reverse instantaneous high energy impact, it can change the high impedance between the poles into low impedance at the speed of 10-12 seconds, absorb a few kilowatts of surge power, clamp the voltage between the poles at a predetermined value, and effectively protect the precision components in the electronic circuit from various surge pulses.
